The Queen That Went Nowhere

With the 5th installment of the Transformers franchise, “The Last Knight”, the series took some pretty fast-paced and bizarre turns. From a drunken Merlin to the Knights of the Round Table being ancient Transformers, to yet another grand enemy. This time we find a being calling herself Quintessa has taken it upon herself to rebuild Cybertron by destroying Earth. This film set up a lot of stories and ignored a lot as well.

The Last Knight saw a wide array of toys being released. Several of these were exclusives and it was one of these sets, Infernocus, that included a Quintessa figure. Now, when I saw we got a Quintessa figure, I mean we got a Quintessa accessory. This figure was clear and very tiny, making her more to scale with the combiner she was packaged with. This whole set is slightly frustrating. From its low production numbers and lack of advertising.

Infernocus was a combiner in the film and could go toe-to-toe with the big boys of the film. It's a bummer this toy wasn't seen by many younger fans as he was heavily featured in the movie. Being that he was a being who worked with Quintessa, it makes sense she would come with this toy. It's just unfortunate we didn't see a better option here. She was the main villain and yet this is all we got in toy form. Imagine if there had been a two-pack with her in robot and human form!

The toy itself is pretty cool for something so very small. It is very accurate to her look in the film. It's made from a solid plastic but has very small tendrils that may break off if you are not careful. At the moment you can get an Infernocus set w/Quintessa for pretty cheap. Loose figures are going from $15-$20 and boxed sets go from $25-$50. With less than five minutes of air-time, Quintessa just becomes another botched enemy in the live-action films and all we got was this cool tiny toy.
